Custom Price & Quantity

Modified on Wed, Mar 11 at 10:53 AM

The Custom Price feature in FEARTICKET allows event organizers to set unique prices and ticket quantities for specific time slots and dates — overriding default ticket pricing on a granular, block-by-block basis. This is especially useful for haunted attractions and time-ticketed events where demand varies by date or time.

FAQ

What is the Custom Price feature?

Custom Price lets you manually set a specific price and/or quantity for any individual time slot across your event calendar. Unlike the default ticket price set in Tickets & Add-Ons, Custom Price gives you full control at the slot level — for example, charging more on weekends or limiting capacity during peak hours.

How do I access Custom Price?

  1. In your Event Dashboard, navigate to Tickets & Pricing in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on Dynamic Pricing, then select Custom Price.
  3. A calendar grid will appear showing all your ticket types across all dates and time slots for the selected month.

How do I set a Custom Price or Quantity for a specific time slot?

  1. On the Custom Price calendar grid, locate the ticket type row (e.g., Dinner party, lighting1) and find the date column you want to update.
  2. Click on the individual block (cell) at the intersection of the ticket type and date.
  3. A popup modal — "Update Price/Qty"— will appear with the following fields:
    • Price – Enter the custom ticket price for that slot.
    • Qty – Enter the available quantity for that slot.
    • Sold Qty – Displays the number of tickets already sold (read-only).
    • Apply To – Shows the date the change applies to.
    • Time Slots – Shows the specific time slot being updated (e.g., 12:00 AM – 01:00 AM).
    • Mark as filling fast – Check this box to display a "filling fast" indicator to buyers for urgency.
  4. Click Save to apply your changes, or Cancel to discard them.

What is the priority order for pricing?

Custom Price takes the highest priority among all pricing types. Here's the full hierarchy:

  1. Custom Price/Qty (highest priority)
  2. Rule Based Price
  3. Default Ticket Price/Qty (lowest priority)

If you update the price or quantity of a ticket in Tickets & Add-Ons, it will not affect any time slots where a Custom Price has already been set.

Similarly, Rule Based Price will not override a Custom Price once it has been applied.

What do the color codes on the calendar grid mean?

The grid uses color coding to help you quickly identify the status of each block:

ColorMeaning
? GreenQuantity sold
? YellowRule-based price is set
? OrangeCustom price/qty is set
⬜ WhiteDefault ticket price/qty (no override)
▪️ GrayDisabled block (slot not available)
✳️ Asterisk (*)Marked as filling fast

Can I filter the grid by ticket type?

Yes. At the top of the Custom Price page, use the Ticket Type filter to narrow the calendar view to a specific ticket type. By default, it shows All Tickets.

You can also navigate between months using the ← → arrows next to the month/year selector.

What does "Mark as filling fast" do?

When you check the Mark as filling fast option while updating a time slot, that slot will be flagged with an asterisk (*) on the grid and may display a urgency indicator to ticket buyers on the front end, encouraging them to purchase sooner.

Can I set a Custom Price for multiple dates at once?

The Apply To field in the update modal currently shows the specific date of the block you clicked. To apply custom pricing to multiple dates, you will need to update each date block individually.

Will disabling a block remove the Custom Price?

A disabled block (shown in gray) means that the time slot is not available for ticket sales. Disabled blocks cannot have custom pricing applied to them.

What happens to sold tickets if I change the Custom Qty?

The Sold Qty field in the update modal displays how many tickets have already been sold for that slot. You can review this before adjusting quantity to avoid overselling. FEARTICKET will prevent reducing the quantity below the number of tickets already sold.
