The Reserved Seating Chart feature allows event organizers to design a custom seating layout for their venue and assign specific ticket types (like VIP, Gold, Balcony, etc.) to different sections. This enables attendees to choose their preferred seats during the booking process.
With this feature, you can:
- Build a detailed venue seating layout.
- Assign labels and ticket categories to rows and seats.
- Offer a smooth booking experience with seat selection.
- View seat numbers while scanning tickets for better entry control.
How to Enable Reserved Seating During Event Setup
While setting up a new event using our easy 3-step DIY process:
1) Event Detail Step:
Fill in event title, location, category, and other details.
After the Organization section, you’ll see the option:
✅ Allow Reserved SeatingCheck the box if your event requires attendees to pick their seats.
A pop-up will appear explaining the feature and its limitations.
Click Enable Reserved Seating, then Save and Next.
2) Add Your Event Schedule:
Select your event dates and add the relevant time slots.
Once done, click Save and Next to proceed to chart design.
3) Design Your Seating Chart
If it’s your first time using Reserved Seating:
Click Create Chart.
A pop-up will ask for details:
Chart Name – Give it a meaningful name for easy future reuse.
Chart Type – Choose from:
Simple (e.g., chairs/tables, basic theater setup)
Sections and Floors (e.g., stadiums, large auditoriums)
Zones (e.g., race tracks, parades)
Ticket Categories – Enter types like Gold, Silver, VIP, Balcony, etc.
Assign a color and price, then click Add to include more categories.
Once done, click Save & Create Chart.
Designing the Chart (Canvas Area)
You'll be taken to the Seating Chart Designer.
A 60-second tour is available—click Take the Tour to learn the basics.
Use the tools (left side) to add elements like:
Rows of seats
Tables (useful for banquets or booths)
Shapes like rectangles or circles (for labeling entrances, stage, etc.)
Icons to visually represent amenities or areas
Edit Properties Panel (right side)
Adjust spacing between rows and seats
Set number of seats in each row
Add row and seat labels (e.g., Row A, Seat 1)
Label objects like “Stage,” “Entranced", or "Foodcourt”
The system highlights any unassigned category (ticket type) or unlabeled items in red on the right side instruction panel. Click the warning to quickly fix them. Or, select the objects and assign category and add label.
Assign Ticket Types and Labels
Select objects (rows or tables)
On the right, assign a Category (ticket type)
Add a Label to each row and seat for clarity (e.g., row label: A,B,C... and seat label: 1,2,3...)
Once everything is labeled and categorized, and the instruction on the right will be in green that says your chart is ready to publish. click Next button at the bottom to continue.
4) Final Step: Ticket Verification
Review ticket types and names generated from your chart.
Want price points under one ticket type (e.g., Gold - Adult $200, Gold - Child $150)?
Click Add New Ticket under the ticket type to add pricing options.After final checks, click Save and Finish.
Your Event is Ready!
You’ll be redirected to the Hytix / Fearticket dashboard.
View your chart via:
Manage Events → Seating Chart
Before publishing:
Customize your event webpage template
Verify payment gateway
Add terms and conditions
Once everything looks good — go live and publish your event!
Note: While scanning tickets, seat numbers appear instantly on screen for fast, accurate check-ins.
How It Works for Ticket Buyers:
Buyer will click on the "Buy Tickets" button from your event ticketingwebpage.
Buyers select date and time slot
View the seating chart
Pick their preferred seats
Proceed to payment — all mapped to the exact seat number!
Your reserved seating chart is now ready and linked to your event. Attendees can view the layout and select their preferred seats while booking. For any changes, updates, or assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team.
